Our Mission

Keeping Singaporean food heritage alive sounds bold. We agree.

So how do we get there?

First, we document heritage recipes from mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers. The Singaporean approach to cooking can be described as ‘agak agak’ (cooking by intuition), without precise measurements and always going by sight and feel. Because of that, many families do not record their recipes. Even if there are written records, they tend to be sketchy or vague. We want to be a trusted resource of recipes that honour traditional techniques and flavours, so that you can be reminded of home wherever in the world you may be.

Next, we share conversations with the people who are keeping the Singaporean food heritage alive in their own way. Listen to why we should be proud of our food heritage and culture, and why it is worthy of preservation and celebration alongside the great cuisines of the world.

Lastly, we guide you to gain confidence in approaching Singaporean food and ingredients through video tutorials, in the form of Youtube videos, Instagram cookalongs, Instagram stories or the online courses. Cooking Singaporean food is the most important way we can keep Singaporean food heritage alive.
