Nonya Mee Siam Online Class


Mee siam is a true testament to the hybridity of food in Singapore. There are Malay, Chinese, Nonya and Indian versions – this version is Nonya-style, with a coconut-enriched gravy and topped with ginger flower. Unlike other hawker dishes like chicken rice, mee siam is a dish that many Singaporeans love cooking at home. It used to be my mom’s signature whenever she threw a party at home – this recipe was the result of improving upon my mom’s constant feedback.
